Pound Cake French Toast

The star of the show is the French Vanilla Pound Cake made daily by The Fresh Market. It’s fluffy, rich and indulgent. I sliced 4, thick slices. (you want them to hold up during the dunking process)

The french toast mixture is simple and lightly flavored, I wanted the taste of the french vanilla pound cake to be the highlight. Mix and whisk.

Heat a skillet or griddle on medium heat. Dunk each slice into the mixture and cook until golden brown on each side.

Serve with powdered sugar, butter and/or your choice of maple syrup or a fruit compote.

Instructions
  1. In shallow bowl beat eggs, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon
  2. Dip cake slices into egg mixture, coating both sides
  3. Heat a skillet or griddle on medium heat and cook until golden brown on each side.
  4. Top with powdered sugar, butter and/or your choice of maple syrup or a fruit compote.
